Description: Sungjin is the leader and main vocalist of the group with a gift of gab! He's rather self-critical though, claiming he's the "worst singer among 1st gen idols", but don't let that deceive you. All you've gotta do is listen to his honey-like, unique vocals to tell that that's just a wrong statement.

As a person, he is witty, strong-spirited, and competitive. However, he can also be introverted, timid, and easily offended (stated by himself). His on-camera persona is very different from how he really is off-camera. On-camera, he acts loud and brash, but off-camera he is more quiet, mature, and like a dependable older brother. In addition, fellow member Moon Sunghoon stated that he's the scariest when angry.

Facts:

- Before NRG, he debuted in a duo called Hamo Hamo with fellow member Chun Myunghoon.

- He has a silver tooth on the bottom left row of his teeth.

- He can do not only a back handspring, but also a backflip!

- Sungjin has his own fanclub called EROS.

- He used to work as a VJ of Mnet Hotline School around 1999 and 2000.

- His original career dream was to become an athlete in baseball or soccer.

- He got married in February 2022.

- In 2024, he announced that he is soon going to be a father, as his wife is going to be having a baby.

- Back in NRG's early days, Sungjin was practicing the choreography of their song "I Can Do It" when he broke his arm and injured his spine after a faulty landing during the back handspring part.

- Sungjin is proficient in and enjoys many sports like billiards, bowling, basketball, table tennis, and golf. He is also very knowledgable in the subject.

- Sungjin and Myunghoon did not get along with each other initially. In fact, on the first day they met, Myunghoon challenged/talked back to Sungjin which led to the latter getting angry to the point of breaking a bottle. But after Myunghoon apologized quickly, their relationship became better.

- His first love was a girl from his fifth-grade class who was tall, good at running, and the class president. He had a one-sided love for her for seven years but sadly lost contact after she moved away.
